File checksums
MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512, SHA3-256, SM3, BLAKE3, CRC-32 or xxHash64 of up to 50 files of any type, read as a stream so large files work.

About this tool
Calculate the SHA-256, MD5 or another checksum of files to check that a download, a backup or a file someone sent you arrived intact. Compare the result with the value published next to the download, or keep a list of checksums to check the same files again later.
Up to 50 files of any type, 80 MB in total, are read as a stream in your browser and are not uploaded. Choose MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512, SHA3-256, SM3, BLAKE3, CRC-32 or xxHash64, and get one line per file in the sha256sum or the BSD style.
How to use it
- Choose up to 50 files of any type, or drop them on the page.
- Choose the “Algorithm” (SHA-256 by default) and the “Output”: lowercase hex, uppercase hex or Base64.
- Pick a “Line style”: “hash name (sha256sum)” or “ALGORITHM (name) = hash”.
- Select Run, then preview the list and download it, named after the algorithm, such as sha256sums.txt.

Common questions
How do I check a download against its published checksum?
Choose the algorithm the download page names, usually SHA-256 or MD5, run the file and compare the two values. Letter case does not matter in hex, but “Hex, uppercase” makes an uppercase published value easier to compare.
Can I check the list later with sha256sum -c?
The default line style is the hash, two spaces and the file name, the layout sha256sum and md5sum write. Only the file name is listed, without its folder, so run the check in the folder that holds the files.
Is there a size limit?
Each run takes up to 50 files and 80 MB in total. Files are read in chunks, so a large file is never held in memory twice. Empty files are rejected.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The files are read in your browser and only the list of checksums is produced; the files never leave your device.
How do I hash text instead of a file?
Use “Hash text (MD5, SHA, SM3)” for text you type or paste, and “CRC and checksums” for CRC-16 and other checksums of hex bytes.

HMAC
HMAC of text with a secret key using MD5, SHA-1, SHA-2, SHA-3 or SM3. The key is a separate input and is never saved with workflows.
CRC and checksums

Encrypt, decrypt, sign or verify text with an RSA key (PEM: PKCS #1, PKCS #8, public key or certificate) or an SM2 key (hex or PEM). Keys stay in the browser and are never saved with workflows.

Encrypt or decrypt with the Caesar cipher (any shift), ROT13, ROT47 or Atbash, or encode and decode international Morse code.
Symmetric encryption (AES, SM4, DES)
Encrypt or decrypt text with AES (CBC, ECB, CTR, CFB, OFB or GCM), SM4, DES, Triple DES, Blowfish, RC2, RC5, RC6, RC4, Rabbit or XOR. The key is a separate input and is never saved with workflows.
