About this tool

Filter a CSV or Excel file down to the rows you need: orders above a given amount, customers in one city, or rows whose name contains a word. Combine up to 10 conditions, require all or any of them, and keep only the columns you need.

It runs in your browser and the file is never uploaded. Number columns compare as numbers, so 10 is greater than 9, and text conditions such as “contains” ignore letter case. A report shows how many rows were kept and removed.

How to use it

  1. Choose or drop one CSV, Excel (XLSX) or JSON file and check its columns in the preview.
  2. Under “Row conditions”, select Add row, then choose a column, a condition such as “greater than” or “contains”, and a value.
  3. Choose whether “Rows must match” all conditions or any of them.
  4. Optionally tick the “Columns to keep”; leave them unticked to keep every column.
  5. Pick the “Output format”, then select Run and download the result.

Common questions

How are numbers compared?

While “Store number columns as numbers” is on, a column whose values are all plain numbers is read as numbers, so “greater than 9” keeps 10 and 120. When the option is off, or the column holds text such as 1,000 or €5, the comparison is alphabetical.

Is “contains” case sensitive?

No. “contains” and “starts with” ignore letter case, while “equals” compares the exact value.

How do “is empty” and “is not empty” work?

They need no value: “is empty” keeps rows where the cell is empty, and “is not empty” keeps rows where it holds a value.

Can I filter by date?

Dates written as 2026-03-15 sort correctly as text, so “at least 2026-01-01” keeps the dates from that day on. Other date formats compare as plain text.

Can I remove columns without filtering rows?

Yes. Leave “Row conditions” empty and tick the “Columns to keep”.

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. Rows are filtered in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.
