About this tool
Record your whole screen, a single window or a browser tab without installing anything, for example to show a bug to a developer, make a short tutorial or keep a copy of an online meeting you are allowed to record.
You can include the tab or system sound where the browser offers it, plus your microphone; the two are mixed into one track. The video is saved as MP4 when the browser can record it, otherwise as WebM. The recording stays in your browser until you save it, and nothing is uploaded.
How to use it
- Choose the sound: “Tab or system sound (where the browser offers it)” is ticked by default, and you can tick “Microphone” to add your voice.
- Select “Choose what to record and start”, then pick a screen, window or tab in the browser’s dialog. Allow the microphone if the browser asks.
- Select “Stop recording” when you are done; the button shows the time recorded so far. Stopping the share from the browser’s own bar also ends the recording.
- Watch the preview, then select “Save MP4” or “Save WEBM” to download the file.
Common questions
Why is there no sound in my recording?
The browser decides which sound it can capture. If its share dialog offers an option to share tab or system audio, keep it on; some browsers or choices offer no sound at all. Tick “Microphone” if you need your voice.
Why did I get WebM instead of MP4?
The page records MP4 (H.264 video with AAC sound) when the browser supports it, and WebM otherwise. To get an MP4, convert the WebM with “Convert video format”, which takes files up to 80 MB.
Is there a time limit?
The page sets no limit, but the recording is held in the browser’s memory until you save it, so long recordings use a lot of memory.
Which browsers can record the screen?
Recording needs the browser’s screen capture feature. If the browser lacks it, the page says so and suggests desktop Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
Is my recording uploaded?
No. The browser asks for permission to share your screen, and to use the microphone if you ticked it. The video stays in this page until you save it, so save it before you close the page.

Extract audio from video (MP4 to MP3)
Take the sound out of MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM video and convert it to MP3, M4A, OGG, WebM or WAV, or keep the track unchanged in its own container, optionally trimmed. Files are not uploaded.
Convert video format
Convert between MP4, WebM, MKV and MOV; MP4 and MOV get H.264 video and AAC sound so any player opens them, and other formats copy streams when they can. Scale down, remove the sound or trim at the same time. Encoding uses the browser.
Convert audio to MP3, M4A, OGG or WAV
Convert MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC and WebM audio to MP3, M4A, OGG, WebM or WAV, with bitrate, sample rate and channels. MP3 is encoded with LAME and the other formats by the browser; files are not uploaded.
Trim audio
Cut a time range out of MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC or WebM audio without re-encoding, so quality is unchanged.
Change audio volume
Make audio louder or quieter by a percentage, clipping at full scale, and save it as MP3, M4A, OGG, WebM or WAV.
