About this tool

See the current time in 26 major cities, from Beijing and Tokyo to London and New York, and add any other time zone. Use it to check whether it is a good time to call someone abroad, to plan a meeting across time zones, or to convert a flight or launch time into local time.

Each row shows the date and time, the UTC offset, the difference from your time zone and whether it is day or night there. Daylight saving comes from your browser’s time zone data, and a chosen time can be converted for every city at once. It runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Check “Your time zone” and the live time in each city, grouped by region.
  2. To convert a specific time, fill in “Show a time instead of now” and choose the zone that time belongs to in “In time zone”. Clear the time to go back to the live clock.
  3. Use “Add a time zone” to add another IANA time zone; it appears under “Added”.
  4. Read each row: local date and time, UTC offset, difference from your time zone, and a sun or moon for day or night.

Common questions

Does it handle daylight saving time?

Yes. Offsets come from your browser’s time zone data for the moment shown, so converting a date in summer uses that zone’s summer offset.

How do I convert a meeting time to other cities?

Enter the date and time in “Show a time instead of now” and set “In time zone” to the zone of that time. Every row then shows the same moment in its own local time; seconds are hidden while converting.

Why is a difference shown as -2.5h?

Some zones are not a whole number of hours apart. New Delhi is UTC+5:30, so it is 2.5 hours behind Beijing at UTC+8. Differences are measured from your own time zone.

Are added time zones saved?

No. Zones you add stay until you reload or leave the page. The list offers every time zone name your browser supports, such as Europe/Madrid.

When is a city marked as day?

When its local time is from 06:00 to 17:59; otherwise it shows a moon. This is a fixed rule, not the actual sunrise and sunset.
