About this tool

Generate a list of links from a template. Put (*) where the changing part goes, as in https://example.com/page/(*).html, and the tool fills in a sequence of numbers or letters. Use it to list paginated pages, numbered image or file names, or test URLs for a crawler or a download manager.

Numbers can follow an arithmetic or a geometric sequence, with decimals and zero padding, and letters step through a to z or A to Z. Up to 10,000 links are generated at a time, right in your browser: nothing is uploaded, and none of the links is opened.

How to use it

  1. Enter a template that contains (*), or several templates one per line, or select “Use example”.
  2. Choose the “Sequence”: “Arithmetic (add the step)”, “Geometric (multiply by the step)” or “Letters”.
  3. Set the “Start”, “Step or ratio” and “How many”. If needed, set “Pad numbers with zeros to” a number of digits, or tick “Reverse order”.
  4. Select “Run”, then preview the list and download it as urls.txt.

Common questions

How do I get page01 instead of page1?

Set “Pad numbers with zeros to” the number of digits you need, such as 2 for 01 to 99 or 3 for 001 onwards. Only the whole-number part is padded, and a minus sign stays in front.

Can I count down or use decimals?

Yes. A negative step counts down, and when the start or the step has decimals, such as 0.5, the results keep that many decimal places, so the values do not drift.

Why did I get fewer links than I asked for with letters?

Letters stop at z, or at a when the step is negative, and follow the case of the start letter. Starting from x with a step of 1 gives only x, y and z.

Can a template contain several (*) or several lines?

Yes. Every (*) in a line is replaced with the same value, and each template line gets the whole sequence in turn. Every line needs a (*), and the total is limited to 10,000 links.

What are the limits of a geometric sequence?

The ratio cannot be 0, and the run stops with an error once the values grow beyond 9007199254740991, the largest whole number that stays exact.
