About this tool
Change the speed of MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC or WebM audio from 0.25× to 4× without changing the pitch, for example to listen to a lecture or podcast faster, slow down a song to learn it, or transcribe an interview at a comfortable pace. You can also let the pitch follow the speed, or shift the pitch by up to 12 semitones on its own.
Up to 10 files, 80 MB in total, are processed in your browser and saved as MP3, M4A, OGG, WebM or WAV under their original names; nothing is uploaded.
How to use it
- Choose or drop up to 10 MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC or WebM files.
- Enter the “Speed”: 1.25 by default, 1.5 is 50% faster and 0.75 a quarter slower.
- Keep “Keep the pitch when the speed changes” ticked for natural voices, or untick it so the pitch follows the speed.
- Optionally set a “Pitch shift” in semitones, from −12 to 12; 12 is one octave.
- Pick the “Output format” and “Bitrate”, select Run, listen to the results and download them one by one or all together as a ZIP.

Common questions
How do I speed up audio without the chipmunk effect?
Keep “Keep the pitch when the speed changes” ticked. The sound is then time-stretched (with WSOLA), so voices keep their natural pitch at any speed. It suits speech best; music sounds most natural between about 0.75× and 1.5×.
How do I change the key of a song without changing its speed?
Set “Speed” to 1 and enter a “Pitch shift” in semitones, for example 2 to sing a whole tone higher or −3 to sing three semitones lower. Only the pitch changes, which helps with singing or instrument practice.
What happens when the pitch is not kept?
With “Keep the pitch when the speed changes” unticked, the pitch follows the speed, like a record or tape played faster or slower: at 2× voices are an octave higher, at 0.5× an octave lower. A “Pitch shift” is added on top of that.
Which format should I save in?
MP3 plays almost everywhere and is the default, at 192 kbps. M4A (AAC) plays well on Apple devices, OGG and WebM use Opus, and WAV keeps the processed sound uncompressed. Changing the speed or pitch always re-encodes the audio.

Convert MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC and WebM audio to MP3, M4A, OGG, WebM or WAV, with bitrate, sample rate and channels. MP3 is encoded with LAME and the other formats by the browser; files are not uploaded.
Remove background noise from audio
Clean up voice recordings, podcasts, lectures and calls by removing hum, hiss, fans, traffic and other background noise with RNNoise, a small neural network that runs in your browser. Save as MP3, M4A, OGG, WebM or WAV.
Extract audio from video (MP4 to MP3)
Take the sound out of MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM video and convert it to MP3, M4A, OGG, WebM or WAV, or keep the track unchanged in its own container, optionally trimmed. Files are not uploaded.
Trim audio
Cut a time range out of MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC or WebM audio without re-encoding, so quality is unchanged.
Change audio volume
Make audio louder or quieter by a percentage, clipping at full scale, and save it as MP3, M4A, OGG, WebM or WAV.
Join audio files
Merge MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, FLAC and other audio files into one track, in the order you add them, end to end, with a pause between them or with a cross-fade. Save the result as MP3, M4A, OGG, WebM or WAV.
