Join audio files

Merge MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, FLAC and other audio files into one track, in the order you add them, end to end, with a pause between them or with a cross-fade. Save the result as MP3, M4A, OGG, WebM or WAV.

About this tool

Join audio files into one track, in the order you put them: MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC and WebM audio, including the sound of WebM videos. Put the files end to end, leave a pause of silence between them, or cross-fade one into the next, and save the result as MP3, M4A, OGG, WebM or WAV.

From 2 to 20 files, 80 MB in total, are decoded, joined and encoded again in your browser, and nothing is uploaded. Files with different sample rates are converted to the rate of the first file, and a mono file is copied to both channels when another file is stereo.

How to use it

  1. Choose or drop 2 to 20 audio files, up to 80 MB in total.
  2. Use the up and down arrows in the file list to set the order; files are joined from top to bottom.
  3. Under “Between files”, choose “Nothing: end to end”, “A pause of silence” or “Cross-fade”, and set the “Pause or cross-fade length (seconds)”, 1 by default.
  4. Pick the “Output format”, MP3 by default, and the “Bitrate”, 192 kbps by default.
  5. Select Run, listen to the joined track on the page and download it. It is named after the first file with “-joined” added.

Common questions

How does the cross-fade work?

The end of each file fades out while the start of the next fades in, along an equal-power curve so the loudness does not dip in the middle. Each join overlaps by the length you set, so the result is shorter than the files played one after another by that length per join.

Can I join MP3 files without re-encoding them?

No. To add pauses or cross-fades and to join files of different formats, every file is decoded and encoded again. MP3 is encoded with the LAME encoder at the chosen “Bitrate”; choose “WAV (uncompressed)” to keep the decoded sound without further loss.

What if the files have different sample rates or channels?

Everything is converted to the sample rate of the first file, such as 44.1 or 48 kHz; OGG and WebM output is always 48 kHz, the rate Opus works at. A mono file is copied to both channels when another file is stereo, and the result has at most 2 channels.

How many files can I join?

From 2 to 20 files in one run, up to 80 MB in total. A run may take at most 30 minutes.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The files are decoded, joined and encoded in your browser and stay on your device.
