About this tool

Draw, sketch or write by hand right in your browser, then save the picture as a PNG. Use it for a quick diagram, a doodle with your kids, a handwritten note on a drawing tablet, or a rough flow chart while you explain something.

You get a pen and an eraser with adjustable colour, size (1 to 60 px) and background, and five canvas sizes from 600×400 to 1920×1080, including a 1080×1920 portrait one. You can undo up to 29 steps, and with a stylus the line width follows pen pressure. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Choose a “Canvas size”; 1200x800 is the default. Changing the size clears the canvas and starts a new picture.
  2. Choose “Pen” or “Eraser” and set the “Colour” and “Size”. For a different background, pick a “Background” colour and select “Clear”.
  3. Draw with a mouse, finger or stylus. Use “Undo” and “Redo” to step back and forward.
  4. Select “Save PNG” to download the picture as drawing.png.

Common questions

Why did changing the background colour not change the canvas?

The background colour does not repaint what is already there. It fills the canvas when you select “Clear”, and the eraser paints with it. Pick the colour first, then select “Clear”; clearing can be undone.

Can the eraser make a transparent background?

No. The eraser paints with the current background colour, and the saved PNG has that background, so it is not a transparent image.

Does it support pen pressure?

Yes. With a stylus, a light touch draws about half the chosen size and full pressure up to about 1.5 times. A mouse always draws at the chosen size.

How many steps can I undo?

Up to the last 29 steps, and “Clear” counts as one. Changing the canvas size starts a new picture, and earlier steps can no longer be undone.

Is my drawing saved or uploaded?

Neither. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is saved automatically, so the drawing is lost when you reload or close the page. Select “Save PNG” first.
