About this tool

Make QR codes and barcodes from text or links, for example a QR code that opens a website, a menu or an event page, Code 128 barcodes for stock and shipping labels, or EAN-13 and UPC-A codes for products.

There are 12 code types: QR code, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, ITF and Codabar, saved as PNG or SVG. Turn on “One code per line” to make up to 100 codes from a list in one run. Codes are made in your browser, and the text is not uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste the text or link to encode. For several codes, put one on each line.
  2. Pick the “Code type” and “Image format”, then adjust “Module size”, “QR error correction”, “Show text under barcodes”, “Keep the quiet zone” or “One code per line” as needed.
  3. Select Run to make the images.
  4. Preview the codes, then download them one by one or all together as a ZIP.

Common questions

How do I make many codes at once?

Turn on “One code per line”: every non-empty line becomes its own code, up to 100 per run, with files numbered like “qr_code-001.png”. Without it, the whole text, line breaks included, goes into a single code.

Which QR error correction level should I pick?

The default M (15%) suits most uses. Higher levels such as H (30%) keep the code readable when part of it is covered or damaged, but make it denser. The setting applies only to QR codes.

Why does a code type reject my text?

Each code type accepts only certain content; EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A and ITF, for example, take digits only. When the text does not fit, the run stops with a message naming the code type, so pick QR code or Code 128 for text with letters.

Should I choose PNG or SVG?

PNG is a ready-to-use picture whose size follows “Module size”, the width in pixels of the smallest bar or square. SVG is a vector image that stays sharp at any print size.

Why is there no text under my QR code?

“Show text under barcodes” only applies to linear barcodes: Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, EAN, UPC-A, ITF and Codabar. QR codes and other 2D codes never show the text.
