About this tool
Convert all punctuation in a text to Chinese full-width marks, or back to English half-width marks. Use it when Chinese text was typed with an English keyboard layout, or when Chinese copy has to go into code, a CSV file or another place that expects half-width punctuation.
Marks inside numbers and times such as 3.14, 1,000 and 10:30, and in links and email addresses, stay as they are. Straight quotes become “ ” and ‘ ’ in pairs, while the apostrophe in words like don't is kept. Up to 1 MB of text is converted in your browser and is not uploaded.

Common questions
Which marks are converted?
Commas, full stops, question and exclamation marks, colons, semicolons, round and square brackets, angle brackets and the tilde become the matching Chinese marks, with square brackets turning into 【】 and angle brackets into 《》; three dots become …… and two hyphens become ——. Converting to English reverses this, and also turns 、 into a comma, 「」 and 『』 into straight quotes and full-width spaces into normal spaces.
Will English sentences in my text get Chinese punctuation too?
Yes. Every mark is converted except a full stop, comma, colon or semicolon between two letters or digits, as in 3.14 or 10:30, so Hello, world. becomes Hello, world。 To convert only marks right after Chinese characters, use Text beautifier with “Use Chinese punctuation after Chinese text”.
Why is there a space after the new comma?
The tool swaps marks and leaves spaces alone, so a space that followed a half-width comma now follows the full-width one. Run the result through Text beautifier, which removes spaces next to full-width punctuation.
Why are my opening and closing quotes the wrong way round?
Straight quotes are turned into opening and closing quotes alternately, so one quote without a partner reverses all the quotes after it. Check that the quotes in your text come in pairs.
Are full-width letters and digits converted?
No. Only punctuation and the full-width space are converted; letters and digits such as ABC123 stay as they are.
