About this tool

Adjust the brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, warmth and sharpness of JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and TIFF images, or turn them black and white, sepia or negative, in your browser without uploading them. Useful to brighten a dark photo, give a set of product shots the same look, or make a quick black-and-white version.

Each setting is a number where 0 means no change; the defaults of 10 for brightness, contrast and saturation give a gentle lift. The same settings are applied to every image in the batch, up to 20 images of 8 MB each and 80 MB in total. Transparency is kept, and each image keeps its format and file name.

How to use it

  1. Choose or drop up to 20 JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP or TIFF images.
  2. Set “Brightness”, “Contrast” and “Saturation” between −100 and 100; 0 leaves a setting as it is.
  3. Optionally turn the colours with “Hue shift”, make the picture warmer or cooler with “Warmth”, add “Sharpen”, or pick an “Effect”: black and white, sepia or negative.
  4. Select Run and look at the results in the preview. If a change is too strong or too weak, adjust the numbers and run again.
  5. Download the images one by one or all together as a ZIP.

Common questions

How do I brighten a dark photo?

Raise “Brightness”, for example to 30, and add a little “Contrast” so the photo does not look flat. Brightness lifts every tone towards white, dark tones the most, by up to 60% of the way at 100; negative values darken towards black in the same measure. Run, check the preview and adjust until it looks right.

How do I make a photo black and white?

Choose “Black and white” under “Effect”. Brightness and contrast are applied first, so raise “Contrast” for a punchier result; “Warmth” is applied after the effect, so a positive value gives a warm-toned black and white. For an old-photo brown tone, choose “Sepia”.

Is there a live preview?

No. The settings are applied when you select Run, and the results then appear in the preview. To fine-tune, change the numbers and run again.

What do “Warmth” and “Hue shift” do?

“Warmth” adds red and takes away blue for a warmer look with positive values, and does the reverse with negative values, which helps with photos that came out too yellow under indoor light or too blue in shade. “Hue shift” turns every colour around the colour wheel by that many degrees, while greys, black and white stay as they are.

Does adjusting change the format or quality?

Each image keeps its format and file name, and transparency is kept. JPG and WebP results are saved again at quality 0.92, and EXIF details such as location are not kept.
