About this tool
Convert images between JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF and ICO, and turn iPhone HEIC photos into JPG or PNG: for example to open HEIC pictures from an iPhone on Windows or upload them to a site that only accepts JPG, to turn a WebP picture saved from the web into a JPG, or to save PNG screenshots as WebP for a web page. AVIF files can also be read if your browser can decode them.
Up to 20 images (25 MB each) are converted in one go, right in your browser: nothing is uploaded. Apart from ICO, the width and height stay the same. Photos are turned upright as phones and photo viewers show them, and the results keep no EXIF details such as location or camera model. Animated images and multi-page TIFFs are not supported.
How to use it
- Choose up to 20 HEIC, HEIF, JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO or AVIF images, or drop them on the page.
- Pick the target “Format”, JPG by default. For JPG and WebP, set the “Quality”; for JPG and BMP, set the “Background for JPEG and BMP”, which fills transparent areas.
- Select Run. Each image is converted separately.
- Preview the results, then download them one by one or all together as a ZIP. TIFF results are not previewed on the page, so download them to view.

Common questions
How do I convert HEIC to JPG or PNG?
Choose the HEIC photos, pick “JPG” or “PNG” as the “Format” and select Run. JPG makes smaller files; PNG keeps every decoded pixel without further loss. HEIC and HEIF files are decoded on your device by libheif, an open-source HEIF decoder that the page loads as a separate file only for these files; its license and source are listed in /THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt.
What happens to transparent areas when I convert to JPG?
JPG and BMP cannot store transparency, so those areas are filled with the “Background for JPEG and BMP” colour, white by default. PNG, WebP and TIFF keep transparency; GIF pixels are either fully transparent or solid, so half-transparent edges become one or the other.
Why is the converted file larger than the original?
“Quality” only applies to JPG and WebP. PNG is lossless, and BMP and TIFF are written without compression, so a photo saved in these formats is often much larger than the HEIC, JPG or WebP it came from.
Why does a GIF result show colour bands?
GIF holds at most 256 colours, so photos and smooth gradients lose detail. Choose PNG or WebP if you need the full colour range.
Can I convert animated images, multi-page TIFFs or HEIC files with several images?
Animated GIF, WebP, PNG and AVIF files, TIFFs with more than one page and HEIC image sequences are rejected with an error. A HEIC file that holds several still images, such as a burst or a spatial photo, is converted from its primary image, the one photo viewers show.
Which sizes does the ICO option create?
One icon holds 16, 32, 48 and 256 px versions, skipping any size larger than the longest side of the image; non-square images get transparent margins. For other sizes, rounded corners or a background colour, use the “Convert images to ICO icons” tool.

Convert images to ICO icons
Make a Windows or website icon (favicon.ico) holding several sizes from 16 to 256 px, with optional rounded corners or a circle.
Make an animated GIF
Combine images into one animated GIF in the order given, with size, frame delay, loop count and palette size. Images of other sizes are scaled to fit or fill.
Split a GIF into frames
Export every frame of an animated GIF, or every Nth frame, as a full PNG, WebP or JPEG image composited as a viewer shows it.
Compress images
Reduce image file sizes with adjustable quality and a target file size.
Crop images
Crop one region from every image, in pixels or percent, as a rectangle, a circle or ellipse, or a rounded rectangle. Outside a shape is transparent, so JPEG and BMP shapes are saved as PNG.
Split images into a grid
Cut every image into rows × columns tiles, such as a 3 × 3 grid for social posts, optionally from the centred square. Tiles keep the input format and are numbered by row and column.
