About this tool
Turn a logo or picture into an ICO icon, for example a favicon.ico for your website or an icon for a Windows program or shortcut. One .ico file holds several sizes, from 16 × 16 up to 256 × 256 px, so each place that shows it can pick a suitable size.
Choose which sizes to include, how non-square images fit the square, rounded corners or a circle, and a transparent or solid background. Up to 20 images (8 MB each) are converted in your browser without uploading, and each image becomes its own icon file.
How to use it
- Choose up to 20 JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO or AVIF images, or drop them on the page.
- Tick the “Sizes” to include; 16, 32, 48 and 256 are ticked by default.
- Choose how “Non-square images” are handled, then set the “Corner radius” (50 makes a circle) and the “Background”.
- Select Run.
- Preview the icons, then download them one by one or all together as a ZIP.

Common questions
Why does the 256 px size look blurry?
Every size you tick is drawn from the source image, and a smaller source is enlarged to fill it. Start from an image at least as large as the biggest size you need, such as 256 × 256 px or more.
How do I make a round icon with a transparent background?
Set “Corner radius” to 50 for a circle; everything outside the rounded shape is transparent. Keep “Background” as transparent to keep the image’s own transparency, or enter a #RRGGBB colour to fill behind the image inside the shape.
What happens to images that are not square?
“Fit inside, transparent margins” keeps the whole image centred and leaves empty margins, which take the “Background” colour if you set one. “Fill the square, crop the excess” fills the icon and trims the longer side equally at both ends.
Can I use the file as a favicon, and will Windows read it?
Yes. Each size is stored as a PNG inside the ICO, which browsers and Windows Vista or later can read. Save it as favicon.ico in the root folder of your site, or reference it with a link tag.
Can I combine different images into one icon?
No. Each source image becomes its own .ico file containing every size you ticked.

Convert images between JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF and ICO icons, and turn iPhone HEIC or HEIF photos into JPG, PNG or WebP; AVIF can also be read where the browser decodes it. Animated images are not supported, and files are not uploaded.
Crop images
Crop one region from every image, in pixels or percent, as a rectangle, a circle or ellipse, or a rounded rectangle. Outside a shape is transparent, so JPEG and BMP shapes are saved as PNG.
Compress images
Reduce image file sizes with adjustable quality and a target file size.
Split images into a grid
Cut every image into rows × columns tiles, such as a 3 × 3 grid for social posts, optionally from the centred square. Tiles keep the input format and are numbered by row and column.
Remove image metadata
Remove location and camera metadata from images before sharing.
Resize images
