Split images into a grid
Cut every image into rows × columns tiles, such as a 3 × 3 grid for social posts, optionally from the centred square. Tiles keep the input format and are numbered by row and column.

About this tool
Cut a picture into equal tiles by rows and columns, such as a 3 × 3 grid for a nine-photo social post, or a wide panorama cut into three panels that you post side by side. Posted in order, the tiles join up into the full picture again.
Up to 10 JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP or TIFF images are cut in one go, each up to 8 MB. You can first crop each image to its centred square, so a 3 × 3 grid gives square tiles. Tiles keep the original format and are named by row and column. Everything runs in your browser, and the images are not uploaded.
How to use it
- Choose up to 10 images, or drop them on the page.
- Set “Rows” and “Columns” (1 to 10 each; the default is 3 × 3). Tick “Crop to the centred square first” if you want a square grid.
- Select Run. Each image is cut in turn.
- Preview the tiles, then download them one by one or all together as a ZIP.

Common questions
In what order should I post the tiles?
Each tile is named after the original with its row and column added, so “photo-1-2” is row 1, column 2. Post them row by row from the top left: 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, then 2-1 and so on.
Are all tiles exactly the same size?
When the width or height does not divide evenly, neighbouring tiles can differ by one pixel, but no pixels are lost or repeated. With “Crop to the centred square first”, the longer side is trimmed equally at both ends before the image is cut.
Can I split an animated GIF?
No. Animated GIF, PNG and WebP files and multi-page TIFFs are refused, so use a still image. Tiles keep the input format: a JPG gives JPG tiles and a PNG gives PNG tiles.
Does cutting lower the image quality?
Tiles keep the full resolution. JPG and WebP tiles are saved again at 92% quality, while PNG tiles stay lossless. Phone photos are turned the way they display before they are cut.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The images are cut in your browser and stay on your device until you close or clear the page.

Crop images
Crop one region from every image, in pixels or percent, as a rectangle, a circle or ellipse, or a rounded rectangle. Outside a shape is transparent, so JPEG and BMP shapes are saved as PNG.
Split a GIF into frames
Export every frame of an animated GIF, or every Nth frame, as a full PNG, WebP or JPEG image composited as a viewer shows it.
Compress images
Reduce image file sizes with adjustable quality and a target file size.
Convert image format (HEIC to JPG, PNG, WebP)
Convert images between JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF and ICO icons, and turn iPhone HEIC or HEIF photos into JPG, PNG or WebP; AVIF can also be read where the browser decodes it. Animated images are not supported, and files are not uploaded.
Convert images to ICO icons
Make a Windows or website icon (favicon.ico) holding several sizes from 16 to 256 px, with optional rounded corners or a circle.
Remove image metadata
Remove location and camera metadata from images before sharing.
