About this tool
Compress JPG, PNG and WebP images to a target file size, such as under 200 KB for an upload form or a web page. The tool lowers the quality step by step and keeps the best result that fits, so pictures stay as sharp as the size allows.
Up to 20 images are compressed in one go, right in your browser: the files are never uploaded, and location and camera details (EXIF) are removed from the results.
How to use it
- Choose up to 20 JPG, PNG or WebP images, or drop them on the page.
- Set the target size in KB and the minimum quality you will accept. Leave “Preserve dimensions” on to keep the width and height.
- Select Run. Each image is tried at several quality levels.
- Compare the results with the originals, then download them one by one or all together as a ZIP.

Common questions
What happens if an image cannot reach the target size?
You still get the smallest version the tool could make, and the report marks that image as not reaching the target. Lower the minimum quality, or turn off “Preserve dimensions” so the tool may also shrink the image.
Why does a PNG barely get smaller?
PNG is lossless, so the quality setting has almost no effect on it. Turn off “Preserve dimensions” to let the tool reduce the size, or convert the image to JPG or WebP first.
Does compression change the format or the dimensions?
Each image keeps its format. The dimensions stay the same unless you turn off “Preserve dimensions”.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Compression runs in your browser, and the images stay on your device until you close or clear the page.

Related tools
Convert image format (HEIC to JPG, PNG, WebP)
Convert images between JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF and ICO icons, and turn iPhone HEIC or HEIF photos into JPG, PNG or WebP; AVIF can also be read where the browser decodes it. Animated images are not supported, and files are not uploaded.
Crop images
Crop one region from every image, in pixels or percent, as a rectangle, a circle or ellipse, or a rounded rectangle. Outside a shape is transparent, so JPEG and BMP shapes are saved as PNG.
Split images into a grid
Cut every image into rows × columns tiles, such as a 3 × 3 grid for social posts, optionally from the centred square. Tiles keep the input format and are numbered by row and column.
Convert images to ICO icons
Make a Windows or website icon (favicon.ico) holding several sizes from 16 to 256 px, with optional rounded corners or a circle.
Remove image metadata
Remove location and camera metadata from images before sharing.
Resize images
Resize images to your chosen dimensions: keep proportions, crop to fill, pad to the exact size with a colour, or stretch.
