About this task
JPG is still the format every phone, printer, email client and upload form accepts. This page turns WebP pictures, such as product photos or wallpapers saved from a website, into JPG at quality 0.85, a good balance between file size and detail for photos.
Transparent areas, which JPG cannot store, are filled with white or with any colour you enter. Width and height stay the same, and the converter handles up to 20 files of up to 25 MB each without sending them anywhere.
How to do it
- Choose or drop up to 20 WebP images.
- Keep “Format” on JPG and “Quality (JPEG and WebP)” at 0.85; raise it for prints.
- Select Run.
- Download the JPGs one by one or all together as a ZIP.
Common questions
Will the JPG look the same as the WebP?
At quality 0.85 the difference is hard to see in photos. Each lossy conversion adds a little loss, though, so convert from the original WebP rather than from an earlier JPG copy.
Why is the JPG bigger than the WebP?
WebP was designed to compress better than JPG, so the same picture usually needs more bytes as a JPG. Lower the quality to 0.75 if size matters more than fine detail.
Can I convert many WebP images at once?
Up to 20 per run and 80 MB in total. For more, run the tool again with the next batch; each batch can be downloaded as its own ZIP.
